ONLINE CHECK IN WITH RYAN AIR? WHAT IS EU/EEA & CAN I ONLINE CHECK IN?

I have purchased tickets to Ireland with online check in, and I thought ANYONE could online check in…but now I am reading and apparently its only EU/EEA…… I have a valid passport and visa for the United Kingdom and my husband is under military orders to live here. So, my question is- Will our passports work at the gate as valid identification for online check in even though we are not EU/EEA citizens. This just sounds ridiculous.

    You cant do online check in with RyanAir if you are a US citizen! When you go into the airport you will need to check in with your passport like you do normal check in back in the states!

    Strange question for two reasons.
    1. Ryanair does not allow any ticket purchase except from their website.
    2. You cannot obtain tickets on the Ryanair website for online check-in if you do not hold a passport of EU/EEA or Switzerland.
